Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an Acute Care Physical Therapist Assistant Pool/PRN for St. Joseph's South Riverview, FL. You will support PTs by implementing treatment plans, guiding therapeutic exercises, and monitoring patient progress in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork with nurses and physicians, strict documentation, infection control, and patient safety. A PTA license or eligibility plus BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in acute care or hospital setting preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Licensed or eligible for PTA license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL mobility interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
• Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.

Acute Care Physical Therapist Assistant Key Responsibilities

• Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
• Required Associate's Physical Therapy
• Preferred 1-year Physical Therapy Assistant
