Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Upon hire: New Mexico Pharmacy Technician - New Mexico Board of Pharmacy or
• Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License.
• Minimum of 2 years (> 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification - OR - 3 years (> 6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification.
• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).

Responsibilities

• Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the ADS.
• Work with nursing units and ancillary departments to ensure prompt, accurate dispensing.
• Utilize ADMs and EHR systems to support medication administration and records.
• Apply advanced knowledge in two or more specialty areas in the pharmacy.
