Job summary

Covenant Hobbs Hospital is seeking an Acute Care Pharmacy Tech II to handle filling and dispensing of unit-dose and stock medications to nursing units and ancillary departments. Responsibilities include triaging patient orders and maintaining the automated dispensing system to ensure accuracy and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, NM or TX technician licensure upon hire, and 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience with PTCB certification.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required.
  • Upon hire: New Mexico Pharmacy Technician - New Mexico Board of Pharmacy or Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Minimum of one year (> 2080 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and current PTCB certification - OR - 2 years (>4160 hours) hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified.

Responsibilities

  • Fill/dispense unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments.
  • Fill/dispense oral and IV medications and triage patient orders while maintaining ADS integrity.
  • Support ADS and ensure prompt accurate medication dispensing across units.
