Job summary
Covenant Health in Texas is seeking an Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III to assist in filling and dispensing unit doses and stock meds from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments, ensuring accuracy and promptness. You will triage orders, maintain ADS integrity, and apply advanced knowledge in two or more specialty areas.
The role requires a H.S. diploma, Texas technician license, PTCB certification (or 3 years hospital experience if no PTCB), and experience with ADMs and EHR.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or
- Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License.
- Minimum of 2 years (>4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification — OR — 3 years (>6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification.
- Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).
Responsibilities
- Fill/dispense unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments.
- Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders.
- Maintain the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).
- Apply advanced knowledge in two or more specialty areas in the pharmacy.
