Job summary

Summitbsa in West Virginia seeks staff to deliver unique guest experiences through guided outdoor activities and glamping support. You will lead and supervise archery, hiking, and other activities for families, while assisting guests with scheduling and tours.

Housing is provided in Staff Camp with a Summit Staff Uniform. Expect 45–55 work hours per week and alignment with Scout Oath and Law in daily duties.

Qualifications

• Outdoor recreation experience required or preferred.
• Archery instruction certification or ability to obtain is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams for communication.

Responsibilities

• Execute, supervise, and guide activities (archery, throwing, aerial, fishing) for ages 6+.
• Facilitate property tours while driving the company van.
• Assist guests with activity scheduling and a seamless experience.
• Be a knowledge resource on on-site hiking trails and local adventures.
• Assist with housekeeping tasks at the glamping site (laundry, cleaning, lodging).
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Follow staff handbook policies.

Position Overview

Providing unique and enriching vacation experiences for guests through activity delivery and glamping quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute, supervise, and provide guidance to a variety of activities offered, not limited to: Archery, throwing activities, aerial activities, and fishing appropriate for ages 6+
• Facilitate short tours of property while driving company van
• Assist guests with activity scheduling and creating a seamless experience
• Knowledge experts for on-site hiking trails, local adventures, and attractive family destinations
• Assists the glamping site in housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and lodging
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions

• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership

• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18+
• Preferred: Outdoor recreation experience
• Complete USA archery level 1 instructor or BSA archery rangemaster (training provided)
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
