Job summary

The Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, WV, is seeking energetic staff to deliver and supervise a variety of guest activities and provide exceptional service. You will guide archery, aerial and other experiences for families, lead short property tours, and help with glamping housekeeping tasks.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and customer focus in a dynamic outdoor setting. Housing is provided in Staff Camp, with daily work hours ranging from 45 to 55.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18+; must be able to meet physical requirements.
  • Outdoor recreation experience preferred for activity delivery.
  • USA archery level 1 instructor or BSA archery rangemaster; training provided.
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening).
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work communication.

Responsibilities

  • Execute, supervise, and guide activities such as archery, throwing, aerial, and fishing for ages 6+.
  • Facilitate property tours while driving the company van.
  • Assist guests with activity scheduling for a seamless experience.
  • Serve as knowledge expert on hiking trails, local adventures, and family destinations.
  • Assist glamping site housekeeping tasks including laundry and cleaning.
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by SBR leadership.
  • Adhere to policies in the staff handbook.

Position Overview

Providing unique and enriching vacation experiences for guests through activity delivery and glamping quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute, supervise, and provide guidance to a variety of activities offered, not limited to: Archery, throwing activities, aerial activities, and fishing appropriate for ages 6+
  • Facilitate short tours of property while driving company van
  • Assist guests with activity scheduling and creating a seamless experience
  • Knowledge experts for on-site hiking trails, local adventures, and attractive family destinations
  • Assists the glamping site in housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and lodging
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
  • Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
  • Minimum age: 18+

Physical & Practical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
  • Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55

Salary: $1600 - $1700 per month
