Job summary

Summitbsa is seeking an Archery Instructor to provide high quality instruction, leadership, and mentorship in all archery venues at our staff camp facility.

The role requires leading teams, ensuring safety and equipment accountability, and adherence to SBR policies. Training is provided for USA Archery Level 1, with housing details and uniform provisions noted in the staff handbook.

Qualifications

• USA Archery Level 1 Instructor (training provided)
• 1+ year leading teams, prefer 1+ year Summit Employment
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Responsibilities

• Provide oversite, guidance, and management in archery venues to their highest and best use
• Instructs and coaches guests in a classroom or range environment
• 100% accountability of all equipment at all times
• Ensures team maintains all equipment
• Controls movement of small teams to provide programs and complete range tasks
• Ensures range safety procedures are followed
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Position Overview

Instill proper knowledge, skills, and attitude with participants. Provide high quality instruction, direct leadership, and mentorship in all archery venues.

• Minimum age: 18+

• Required: USA Archery Level 1 Instructor (training provided)
• Required: 1+ year leading teams, prefer 1+ year Summit Employment
• Preferred: Experience in competitive shooting or hunting, any discipline
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
