Job summary

Summitbsa seeks staff to provide high-quality aquatics-based opportunities for guests while creating lasting memories. You will teach merit badges and lessons, work with groups of 2-20 youth, and help with setup and takedown of areas, while modeling the Scout Oath and Law.

Housing is provided in Staff Camp with Summit Staff Uniform and 45-55 hour weeks; background screening is required to become a registered Scouting America member. Join us for a role focused on safety, service, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening).
• Previous boating experience recommended.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication.

Responsibilities

• Teach aquatics-based merit badges and lessons.

• Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Present in front of group sizes of 2-20 youth and transfer knowledge
• Assist with the set-up, maintenance and take down of program areas
• Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner
• Provide First Aid in the event of participant or staff injuries
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, swim, and paddle up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
