Job summary

Evergreen Healthcare Group is seeking an Activities Assistant for Shepherd of the Valley Rehabilitation and Wellness in Casper, WY. You will implement group programming to promote interaction among residents and coordinate activity schedules with staff and residents.

You should be kind, a good listener, and able to build rapport with the elderly while working collaboratively with the team to meet individual activity plans and provide companionship, sensory stimulation, and orientation support.

Responsibilities

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visits with residents one-to-one to provide: friendly visitation; sensory stimulation; reality orientation; meeting individual needs per Activity Plan.
• Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for transporting residents to and from activity areas.
• Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas.

Essential Functions:

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.


• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.


• Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director in order to provide:




• A friendly visitor.


• Sensory stimulation.


• Reality orientation.


• A means of meeting individual needs as outlined in each resident's Activity Plan.




• Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for purpose of assistance in transporting residents to and from general activity areas.


• Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas
