Job summary

Laramie Health and Rehabilitation in Laramie, WY is seeking an Activities Assistant who approaches the elderly with kindness, listens well, builds rapport, and communicates clearly. Responsibilities

• Implement group programming to promote resident interaction.
• Notify residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Conduct one-to-one visits to provide friendly companionship, sensory stimulation, reality orientation, and personalized activities per plan.
• Assist with transporting residents to activity areas in coordination with nursing staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas.

Essential Functions:

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director in order to provide:
  • A friendly visitor.
  • Sensory stimulation.
  • Reality orientation.
  • A means of meeting individual needs as outlined in each resident's Activity Plan.
• Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for purpose of assistance in transporting residents to and from general activity areas.
• Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas
