Job summary

Evergreen Healthcare Group seeks an Activities Assistant at Polson Health and Rehabilitation Center to support residents with engaging activities and compassionate companionship. You will help implement programs, coordinate schedules, and provide one-on-one visits to meet individual needs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Activities Director and nursing staff to ensure smooth transportation, activity participation, and a clean activity environment.

Qualifications

• Experience providing companionship to elderly residents.
• Ability to follow Activity Plans.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visits with residents one-on-one per Activities Director for friendly visits, sensory stimulation, and reality orientation.
• Selects residents and communicates with nursing staff for transportation to/from activity areas.
• Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas.

Essential Functions:

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director in order to provide:
  • A friendly visitor.
  • Sensory stimulation.
  • Reality orientation.
  • A means of meeting individual needs as outlined in each resident’s Activity Plan.
• Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for purpose of assistance in transporting residents to and from general activity areas.
• Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas
