Job summary

Evergreen Healthcare Group seeks an Activities Assistant for Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carson City, NV. The role emphasizes engaging residents, fostering a warm environment, and supporting activities planning.

You will implement group programs, coordinate schedules, and work with nursing staff to transport residents as needed, while providing one-to-one visits and sensory stimulation per each resident’s Activity Plan.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering group programming that promotes resident interaction.
• Ability to notify staff of activity schedules.
• Capability to perform one-to-one resident visits with sensory stimulation.
• Strong communication and rapport-building with elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Implement group programs that promote interaction between residents.
• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis to provide a friendly visitor, sensory stimulation, reality orientation, and tailored activity according to each resident’s plan.
• Coordinate transportation with nursing staff for activity participation; assist with housekeeping in activity areas.

Essential Functions:

• Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
• Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
• Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director in order to provide:
• A friendly visitor.
• Sensory stimulation.
• Reality orientation.
• A means of meeting individual needs as outlined in each resident’s Activity Plan.
• Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for purpose of assistance in transporting residents to and from general activity areas.
• Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas
