Job summary

SpartanNash in St. Joseph, MI is seeking a capable team member to coordinate store operations in the absence of store leadership, ensuring shift efficiency, safety, and a well‑stocked, clean store while delivering good guest experiences.

Requirements include a high school diploma (preferred), at least one year in retail, ability to read and interpret documents, basic math, and willingness to assist customers and run the cashier desk.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Able to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor associate’s adherence to company policies.
• Able to run cashier register and courtesy counter desk and handle customer concerns in efficient manner.
• Understand and be familiar with store layout, location of safety and emergency equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of all areas, providing feedback to department managers.
• In the absence of the Store Director or specified department manager, will be responsible for time clock maintenance.
• May close store: lock all doors, including receiving, turn off lights, arm store, etc.
• Know product locations in the store, in order to be able to assist customers.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked store.
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
