Job summary

SpartanNash’s St. Joseph, MI location is seeking a Convenience Shift Lead to manage day-to-day department operations, ensure staff training, maintain inventory, and uphold company standards. You will oversee stocking, product quality, and rotation while following ads, promotions, and store policies.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 0–2 years retail experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office and retail systems is expected; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Ability to lead a team in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store to meet company standards and KPIs.
• Order and maintain inventory, review received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, and ensure proper storage.
• Direct a team to complete stocking, production, and related tasks with a focus on product quality and rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with department products and store promos; know ad items and coupon deals.
• Communicate and execute weekly Flight Plans; assist in scheduling, labor control, and payroll expenses.
• Support department manager in staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
• Participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, and company-level meetings.
• Maintain a clean, safe department and ensure food safety and general safety guidelines are followed.
• Assist with department goals, forecasting, and action plans; adhere to PPE and safety guidelines.
