Job summary

SpartanNash in Grand Haven, MI is seeking a Store Associate to support daily store operations in the absence of leadership. You will assist customers, manage the cash register and courtesy desk, and help ensure a safe, clean, well-stocked store environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and about one year of retail experience. Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills are needed, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (preferred).
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor associate’s adherence to company policies.
• Run cashier register and courtesy counter desk and handle customer concerns.
• Understand and be familiar with store layout, location of safety and emergency equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of all areas, providing feedback to department managers.
• In the absence of management, responsible for time clock maintenance.
• May close store: lock doors, turn off lights, arm store, etc.
• Know product locations to assist customers.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked store.
• Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines; Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations; Guest Experience Guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need.
