Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a diligent Retail Associate to support stock and front-end operations at our St. Joseph, MI location. You will stock shelves, process transactions, assist customers, and help maintain a clean, inviting store environment.

Ideal candidates have at least a high school diploma or GED and basic math, reading, and writing skills, plus customer service aptitude. Prior retail experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• One year of prior retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, coupons and other tender accurately.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store.
• Run the cash register, engage in suggestive selling (lottery, etc.), enroll guests in loyalty program, maintain clean service area.
• Ensure proper use of PLU codes and report pricing or signage errors.
• Communicate store programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers; model high service standards.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department and outside grounds; follow safety and sanitation procedures.
