Job summary

Johns Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our Colfax, NC office. The role focuses on managing receivable accounts, collecting payments, and keeping accurate records to ensure timely cash flow.

You will communicate with customers, process payments and deposits, and coordinate with our team and legal partners on delinquent accounts. A detail-oriented, customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience handling accounts receivable and payments collection.
• Ability to communicate with customers via phone, mail, and email.
• Experience with MS Office and basic accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Process and post payments from customers.
• Process weekly cash deposits.
• Serve as first point of contact for payment inquiries and disputes.
• Contact delinquent accounts to request payment.
• Prepare and send monthly statements; initiate credit holds.
• Maintain records of collection activities and account statuses.
• Work with legal team on delinquent accounts and liens.
• Negotiate payment arrangements as authorized.
• Oversee payment schedules and formal plans.
• Handle sensitive payment data with confidentiality.
• Ensure aging goals compliance.
