Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on supporting the AP team with inquiries, reconciliations, manual checks, and ACH processing, leveraging SAP and strong Excel skills.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and previous AP or accounting experience, with an emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork within a Payments and Quality Assurance group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Previous Accounts Payable or general accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with invoice processing, supplier account reconciliation, or payment processing is an asset.
• Familiarity with high-volume, multi-entity Accounts Payable environments preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Accounts Payable shared inbox and respond to inquiries within 72 hours.
• Route inquiries to the appropriate AP Accountant when further action is needed.
• Perform supplier account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and issue manual checks weekly.
• Support the review and approval process for ACH payments.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding debit balances to support working-capital improvement.
• Maintain accurate AP documentation and records per established controls.
• Perform other AP-related duties as assigned.
