Aston Carter is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to accurately process daily financial transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, and payroll, while protecting confidential information. The role is contract-to-hire and based onsite in Gardnerville, NV.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of accounts payable experience, strong data accuracy, and the ability to reconcile invoices with PO/receiving records. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ability to review and verify invoice data for accuracy and completeness.
• Experience with invoices, purchase orders, and receiving records.
• Proficiency with a computerized accounts payable system.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when coding and distributing costs.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California or Nevada drivers license within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process daily accounting transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, bank deposits, customer payments, and payroll, under direct supervision.
• Receive and classify incoming invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to payment.
• Verify data on invoices, confirm attachments, and reconcile invoices with purchase orders and receiving records.
• Code account numbers for proper cost distribution and enter data into the accounts payable system.
• Identify and correct invoice errors, notify departments or vendors, and initiate corrective actions.
• Prepare and generate checks for vendors and other payees, obtain signatures, and distribute checks.
• Process purchase orders and distribute documents in accordance with procedures.
• Maintain accounts payable ledgers, logs, and filing systems for accuracy.
• Process invoices in the range of approximately $250 to $4,000 weekly.
