Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily accounting operations in Gardnerville, NV. You will process invoices, purchase orders, vendor payments, and payroll-related transactions with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

The role requires at least 1 year in accounts payable, solid data-entry skills, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information in a fast-paced environment. This is a contract-to-hire, fully onsite position.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience with invoices, purchase orders, and payment processing.
• Knowledge of accruals vs prepaid expenses.
• Proficiency in using a computerized accounts payable system.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions including purchases, invoices, bank deposits, customer payments, and payroll under supervision.
• Classify and verify invoices, ensure attachments, and reconcile with POs and receiving records.
• Code account numbers and enter data into the AP system.
• Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies with departments or vendors.
• Prepare and issue checks for vendors and other payees; obtain signatures.
• Maintain AP ledgers and filing systems for accurate records.
• Process invoices from approximately $250 to $4,000 weekly.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and payroll information.
