Merrill Gardens, a privately owned family company, is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist at our Corporate Office in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on AP processing, vendor management, and bank reconciliations within a fast-paced team environment.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years AP/GL experience, an AA in accounting, and strong Excel skills (YARDI preferred). We offer hybrid work, comprehensive benefits, and advancement opportunities in a stable company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (required) and an AA degree in accounting or a related field (preferred).
• At least 4 years of accounts payable and general ledger experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High level of proficiency in English (oral and written).
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Excel (YARDI experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Processing Accounts Payable, including entering invoices and coordinating payments.
• Processing expense reports and handling check requests.
• Conducting regular and urgent check runs and maintaining vendor records.
• Researching vendor and employee inquiries and communicating with Operations/Accounting.
• Preparing bank reconciliations and ensuring accurate general ledger entries.
• Assisting with government reporting (sales taxes, 1099s, unclaimed property).
• Supporting special projects and other duties as assigned.

The Accounts Payable Specialists responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Processing Accounts Payable, including entering invoices, coordinating payments, processing expense reports, and handling check requests
• Conducting regular and urgent check runs, maintaining vendor records, and researching vendor and employee inquiries
• Communicating regularly with Operations and Accounting teams on AP workflow, serving as a resource for support
• Preparing bank reconciliations and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger
• Assisting with government reporting (e.g., sales taxes, 1099s, unclaimed property)
• Supporting special projects and other duties as assigned

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire. Bonus target for this position: 5%.
