Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
• Experience managing a team or leading projects.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the accounts payable team and processing of invoices and payments.
• Manages expense accounts and budget reports.
• Analyzes expense reports and ensures accuracy for payment eligibility.
• Verifies payments prior to controller signature and reviews checks/vouchers.
• Reconciles accounts payable with the general ledger and other records.
• Prepares budget reports and purchase journals timely.
• Maintains records for tax preparation and audits.
• Ensures 1099 information collection from vendors and filing.
• Assists with SOP development and process improvements.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the accounts payable team, direct the processing of invoices and payments, and manage expense accounts and budget reports.Supervisory Responsibilities:Interviews prospective employees and chooses the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.Trains, oversees, and motivates employees involved in billing functions.Directly assigned tasks and provides assistance as needed.Assists with performance evaluations.Duties/Responsibilities:Oversees reports regarding cash flow; ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.Develops guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records.Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.Verifies payments before controller’s signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors’ ledger).Facilitates correct and timely preparation of budget reports and purchase journals.Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.Ensures all relevant information has been collected from all vendors to prepare and submit 1099s.Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records and manages yearly and other AP audits.Identify and document new SOPs to increase efficiencies, accuracy and timeliness.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Required Experience:- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.- Experience managing a team or leading projects.- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
