The ideal candidate will have 3+ years AP experience in a multi-location environment, strong training skills, and excellent vendor communication. Onsite in Plano, with opportunities to mentor staff and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a multi-location environment.
• Strong training, onboarding, and knowledge-sharing experience within an AP team.
• Excellent vendor communication skills with the ability to handle escalations professionally.
• Close attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with invoice coding, vendor reconciliations, payment processing, and AP issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead AP team across multiple locations and serve as first point of contact for day-to-day questions.
• Train and onboard AP staff, ensuring consistency in processes.
• Manage vendor communications and escalate issues professionally as needed.
• Monitor workloads, prioritize tasks, and support month-end close as applicable.

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a growing healthcare services organization to identify an Accounts Payable Team Lead in Plano, TX. This is an onsite opportunity supporting a high-volume, multi-location AP function and serving as a key resource for the broader Accounts Payable team.

This position is ideal for an experienced AP professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident training others while serving as the first point of contact for day-to-day questions and vendor-related issues.

Required:

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a multi-location environment
• Strong training, onboarding, and knowledge-sharing experience within an AP team
• Excellent vendor communication skills with the ability to handle escalations professionally
• Close attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on experience with invoice coding, vendor reconciliations, payment processing, and AP issue resolution

Preferred:

• Experience serving as a lead resource or escalation point for AP specialists without direct people-management responsibility
• Experience supporting month-end close and monitoring reconciliation deadlines
• Familiarity with automated accounting and invoice-processing systems
• Experience training internal business partners or location-level employees on AP processes
• Accounting-related education or equivalent professional experience
