Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounts payable or procure-to-pay experience with leadership responsibility.
• Experience managing high-volume AP operations in a multi-location or complex organization.
• Proven track record of leading and developing an AP team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong experience with process improvement, automation, and technology enablement within AP.
• Experience with ERP systems and AP workflow/automation technologies.
• Solid understanding of AP controls, invoice processing, payment processes, and vendor management.
• Ability to build strong relationships with executives and internal business partners.

Job description

Our client is a growing, multi-location services organization with a complex, high-volume operating environment. The company is seeking a Director of Accounts Payable to lead and evolve its accounts payable function while partnering closely with finance leadership, operational teams, and internal stakeholders across the organization.

This is an opportunity for an experienced AP leader who can operate effectively in a high-volume environment, bring structure and scalability to the function, and identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable working with senior executives, internal customers, and frontline accounting associates.

The successful candidate will have a track record of:

• Improving processes and eliminating manual work
• Implementing automation and AP technology

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounts payable or procure-to-pay experience, with meaningful leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience managing high-volume AP operations, ideally within a multi-location, decentralized, or complex organization.
• Experience leading and developing an AP team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of process improvement, automation, and technology enablement within AP.
• Experience with ERP systems and AP workflow/automation technologies.
• Strong understanding of AP controls, invoice processing, payment processes, vendor management, and procure-to-pay operations.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and establish credibility with executive leadership and internal business partners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with a willingness to get into the details when necessary.
