Working in close collaboration with the Senior Accounting Specialist, the Accounting Specialist ensures the timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions for the departmental and student organizations, by developing and implementing processes, providing staff support, and reconciling accounts and correcting errors.

Facilitates the processing of all financial transactions for the department and student organization accounts through regular communication with internal and external constituents; reviews monthly financial transactions for accuracy and prepares corrections and reports as necessary.
Provides guidance to student organizations, including the Council on Student Organizations, the Programming Board, and Special Programs and Events Committee, by assisting with financial transactions and account management, and helping to navigate relevant College processes and policies. Maintains the Student Organization Financial Procedures Guide and the 'Treasurer's Corner' document resource and website.
Provides administrative support with department projects and programs including facilitating communications and managing deadlines. Learns new software as needed and provides instruction to students.
