Job summary

Davis Furniture, a family-owned high-end furniture manufacturer, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to manage AR/AP, cash receipts, sales orders, tax, fixed assets, and month-end close. You will work with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accurate financial records and policy compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in accounting/related field with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ERP experience (Epicor preferred), and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience overseeing multiple functions.
• Strong knowledge of AR, AP, GL, and reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing.
• ERP/accounting systems experience; Epicor preferred.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, process and assist with daily accounting operations including AR invoicing, cash receipts, AP invoicing and payments, and international invoicing.
• Manage merchant accounts, credit cards, company cards, and employee expense reporting.
• Handle customer and vendor transactions, invoice matching, reconciliations, and petty cash.
• Coordinate sales tax administration through Avalara and assist with tax reporting.
• Maintain fixed assets and finished goods inventory in Epicor, including asset entries and disposals.
• Support month-end close activities with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and schedules.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and auditor requests.
• Maintain organized financial records in compliance with policies and standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, HR to resolve issues.
