Job summary

Cobalt Service Partners is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the accounting for newly acquired operating companies. You will oversee monthly close, financial reporting, controls, payroll oversight, and the annual audit, while collaborating with the regional finance team.

Your work centers on project-based revenue recognition, job costing, and cash management. In this hands-on role you will build processes, lead the team through ERP implementations, and ensure accurate intercompany accounting

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting with monthly close ownership.
• Strong command of GAAP, ASC 606, reconciliations, accruals.
• Experience with project-based accounting: job costing, WIP, and over/under billings.
• Experience with inventory accounting, cycle counts, and GL reconciliation.
• Ability to lead multiple entities' close and reporting.
• Proficient in Excel; able to model data.
• Self-directed with capacity to bring structure to ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Run monthly close with journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Own revenue recognition under ASC 606, job costing, and WIP.
• Own income statement and balance sheet, plus depreciation.
• Manage intercompany accounting and settlements with CSP finance.
• Build a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Maintain internal controls, prepare PBC schedules for audits.
• Prepare annual budget and track KPIs.
• Develop close, AP/AR, payroll and reporting procedures; automate where possible.
• Lead accounting staff and manage changes with new systems.
