Job summary

MEI Rigging & Crating is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the regional accounting team and support the General Manager with financial analysis. You will oversee AR/AP, enforce GAAP, and drive margins and utilization reporting across projects.

The role demands strong supervisory skills, advanced Excel, and extensive MS Office proficiency. Collaboration with the corporate office is essential for accurate month‑end closes and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s in Accounting or combination of education and experience to demonstrate accounting principles.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Knowledge of CCIP, ROCIP or similar customer setups.
• Familiarity with certified payroll or prevailing wages.
• Strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Advanced Excel and data entry skills with high accuracy.
• Excellent written and oral communication with stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, detail‑oriented and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of information.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with a customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead project accounting including job costing and margin analysis.
• Oversee AR processes: invoicing, collections, and lien waivers.
• Oversee AP processes: purchasing, cost accounting, vendor discounts.
• Coordinate month-end with corporate; ensure GAAP accuracy.
• Provide monthly margins and utilization reports to corporate.
• Monitor equipment rental costs and advise on buy/rent decisions.
• Monitor overtime and advise on hiring timing.
• Partner with PMs to supply project data for management.
• Oversee end-to-end quote-to-invoicing portal and train staff.
• Perform monthly variance analyses and explain deviations.
• Track leases and manage regional vendor contracts.
• Review customer contracts, PO's, and credit approvals.
• Process lien waivers/releases.
