Aston Carter is seeking an Accounting Manager based in Westminster, MD to lead the accounting function and a small team. The role covers AR/AP, inventory and manufacturing accounting, and compliance with GAAP and government contracting rules.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in accounting, with 2–3 years in management and hands‑on experience with GL, cost accounting, and ERP systems such as QAD, Oracle, or SAP. This is a fully onsite opportunity in Westminster.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience with AR, AP, and general accounting.
Approximately 2–3 years in an accounting management or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

Lead and support accounting staff with strong leadership and cross‑department communication.
Oversee AR/AP activities, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
Manage GL, month‑end and year‑end close processes and journal entries.
Support government contracting audits and prepare ICS and cost submissions.
Maintain inventory accounting for manufacturing including LBR, WIP, and finished goods.
Collaborate with operations and supply chain to ensure inventory accuracy.
