Joseph Michaels International is seeking a senior accounting supervisor in Atlanta, GA to lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, manage internal reporting, and mentor a team through high-volume transactions. You will ensure strong internal controls, GAAP compliance, and accurate financial analysis.

The role emphasizes process improvements, cross-functional collaboration, and timely ad hoc reporting, with responsibility for audits and policy adherence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience in a high-volume transaction environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead teams through change and manage multiple projects.
• Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities; working knowledge of Access.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships and work under deadlines.
• Flexibility to work hours as required.

Responsabilités

• Supervise associates, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Supervise and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close for company.
• Perform and/or review complex accounting reconciliation and analysis.
• Direct activities of teams responsible for general ledger accounting, vendor billing, cash reconciliation, fixed assets, and related capital expenditure accounting.
• Provide strategic recommendations for process improvements and efficient use of resources.
• Effectively lead team(s) through change.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger.
• Ensure transactions are performed within a sound internal control environment.
• Perform financial analysis as required.
• Prepare various ad hoc reports, conduct analyses, and complete special projects as required.
• Recommend and ensure adherence to accounting policies.
• Prepare and review schedules for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
