Job summary

Western Milling is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting for assigned business units, drive the monthly close, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will supervise accounting staff, strengthen internal controls, and partner with operations to provide actionable insights.

The role requires CPA/CMA certification, at least five years of progressive accounting experience, and supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-location environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Minimum two (2) years of supervisory, team-lead, or accounting management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations, and internal controls required.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, agriculture, food production, or another multi-location operating environment preferred.
• Public accounting or professional audit experience preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger and month-end close processes for assigned units.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations.
• Lead accounting team through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
• Support internal controls and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Assist with audits and tax support as needed.
