Job summary

Atrium is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead the accounting team, and partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives.

Responsibilities include month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting, internal controls, and collaboration with external auditors, with a focus on process improvements and automation to drive accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of Accounting Manager or equivalent-level accounting experience.
• Strong full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, journal entry, and reconciliation experience.
• Experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
• Solid knowledge of internal controls and accounting procedures.

Client Overview

Our client is an established professional services organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its team. This individual will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead the accounting team, and partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$115k - $140k

Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting function, including financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, budgeting, internal controls, and bank/trust accounting. This position will also lead and develop accounting staff while identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.

Responsibilities Of The Accounting Manager

• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Oversee daily accounting operations and preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Lead monthly and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and financial review.
• Manage operating, trust, payroll, and other bank account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial analysis, variance reporting, dashboards, and key metrics.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee trust accounting compliance and monthly trust reconciliations.
• Prepare and review fixed assets, depreciation, lease accounting, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate external audits, tax engagements, government filings, and other reporting requirements.
• Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and accounting technology enhancements.

Required Experience/Skills For The Accounting Manager

• 5+ years of Accounting Manager or equivalent-level accounting experience.
• Strong full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, journal entry, and reconciliation experience.
• Previous experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills For The Accounting Manager

• Law firm and/or professional services industry experience.
• Trust accounting experience.
• CPA license and/or Master's degree.
• Experience implementing accounting process improvements and automation.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Master's degree preferred.
