Job summary

Recruithook is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the Finance team in New York. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the role will supervise daily accounting operations, oversee the monthly close, treasury activities, payroll, and partner-related accounting while developing the team.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 4+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in a supervisory role, and familiarity with professional services or law firm

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Professional services or law firm accounting experience is required.
• Experience with Aderant or Elite is required.
• Strong Excel skills; Ceridian and Chrome River experience are a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor accounting staff and oversee daily accounting operations.
• Lead the monthly close process, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Oversee banking, treasury, cash reporting, and escrow account activities.
• Manage payroll, 401(k) funding, partner expenses, and related accounting.
• Review financial reports and assist with audits and annual financial statement reviews.
• Support accounting system upgrades, implementations, and special projects.
• Work closely with attorneys, partners, banking institutions, and internal leadership.
