Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions, based in West St. Louis County, seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting and finance function onsite. This role balances hands-on accounting with strategic financial support and prepares for Controllership under a Senior Leader.

You’ll oversee GL, AP/AR, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while driving process improvements and team development. A CPA/MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting and finance experience with ownership of core accounting processes.
• Experience mentoring, leading or developing accounting/finance team members.
• Strong financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close experience.
• Advanced Excel and experience with ERP/financial systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive and strategic/tactical execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes.
• Analyze financial performance and identify trends and opportunities.
• Partner with the Controller and operational leadership to support profitability, cash flow, and sound decision-making.
• Drive process improvements and greater efficiency within the finance function.
• Lead and develop accounting and administrative team members.
• Support broader business initiatives and continued organizational growth.

A growing, privately held organization in West St. Louis County is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead its accounting and finance function. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, partnering with operational leaders, and balancing hands‑on accounting responsibilities with strategic financial support.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the core accounting function while helping improve financial visibility, strengthen processes and controls, and provide leadership with meaningful financial insights to support business decisions. This role is specifically designed as a grooming role for the Controllership, mentored by a Senior Leader. What You’ll Do
