Job summary

Shamin Hotels in Richmond, VA is seeking an Accounting/HR Coordinator to support daily financial processes and human resources activities, including payroll guidance, AP tracking, and vendor communications.

The role collaborates with property leadership to recruit, onboard, and develop associates while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and operating procedures. A strong emphasis on accuracy and service excellence drives this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree, and/or equivalent experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
• 1-2 years of HR or administrative experience preferred.
• Customer Service Skills required.
• Financial management skills required.
• Brand systems knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Payroll guidance.
• Assist with staffing updates, assist in obtaining approvals for hiring exceptions, and provides applicant eligibility and rehire status.
• Assist with recruitment initiatives.
• Communicates company rules and regulations via the Associate Handbook; promote safety awareness.
• Assist with new hire orientation to generate a positive first impression for General Managers and emphasize culture.
• Identify current and future weaknesses and strengths; problems and concerns; job satisfaction and productivity.
• Ensure HR and Accounting recordkeeping meets auditors' and government requirements.
• Assist with invoice coding and entry; reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
• Issue invoices to customers and external partners.
• Maintain digital and physical financial records.
