Paramount Schools of Excellence, Inc. is seeking an Accountant I to support accounts payable, deposits, and grant-related finance needs.

This role emphasizes preparing vouchers, processing credit card expenses, and building workpapers for audits, with collaboration across the Finance team. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree or experience in school or non-profit finance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn industry software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or an Associate’s with 2+ years accounting experience.
• Experience with school or non-profit grants management and finance is required.
• Ability to interpret complex grant funding requirements and budgets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to accuracy and detail; ability to work in a task-driven environment.
• Ability to learn industry-specific software and work with SBOA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review invoices and deposits for accuracy and completeness.
• Create payment vouchers and code invoices to the correct accounts and grants.
• Prepare and code credit card expenses to proper accounts and reconcile monthly.
• Collaborate with Finance team to support grant processes and audits.
• Reconcile accounts, ensure compliance with SBOA, and prepare supporting workpapers.
• Participate in monthly budget meetings and assist with annual financial audits.
• Provide additional clerical and administrative support as needed.
