Hiring Solutions LLC is seeking an Accountant to handle day-to-day core accounting functions for grants, payroll, and recordkeeping, reporting to the Director of Finance. This role ensures accuracy of transactions and complete records, delivering financial data timely for review and decision-making.

The position focuses on nonprofit accounting, fund administration, and support for audits and tax, with opportunities to contribute to governance and systems improvements across the finance team.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of nonprofit accounting principles.
• Experience with fund accounting, grants, and restricted funds is preferred.
• Experience supporting audits and tax preparation.

Responsibilities

• Cash, Gifts & Investment Transactions: maintain cash balances in operating accounts and transfer gifts to investment accounts.
• Accounts Payable & Disbursements: maintain vendor records and ensure disbursements are recorded.
• Grant Accounting & Administration: manage grant payment process and analyses.
• Financial Reporting & General Ledger: prepare monthly close and variances from budget.
• Audit, Tax & Record Retention Support: prepare audit workpapers and support auditors.
• Systems & Operational Support: assist with IT/systems related to finance operations.
• Payroll, Benefits, & Governance Administration Support: prepare bi-weekly payroll and maintain payroll records.
