Job summary

Paramount Schools of Excellence in Indianapolis is seeking an Accountant I reporting to the Controller to support accounts payable and deposit processing, with emphasis on preparing vouchers and grant-related workpapers.

The role involves reviewing invoices, coding payments, processing credit card expenses, assisting with audits, and collaborating with the Finance team to improve financial processes and grant management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or an Associate with 2+ years accounting experience.
• Experience with school or nonprofit grants management is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to learn industry software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review incoming invoices and deposits for accuracy and completeness.
• Create payment vouchers and code invoices to appropriate school/department, grant, and general account.
• Prepare the Organization’s credit card expenses and reconcile expenditures monthly.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure successful grant processes.
• Assist with annual financial audit and provide supporting work papers.
