Job summary

Johnson Matthey in West Deptford, NJ, a world leader in platinum group metals, seeks a Sales Representative to support emissions reduction and life-saving technologies through metals chemistry.

As an Account Manager, you will drive regional targets, grow customer relationships, and work with R&D, Legal, Finance and Production to enable commercial activity and contract negotiations while tracking market trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• Proven experience in account management within a technical or scientific environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to position solutions in complex customer environments.
• Effective written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple opportunities and customer relationships.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or agrochemical markets is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Delivering financial targets across assigned accounts and segments within the region.
• Building and strengthening relationships with new and existing customers to support long-term growth.
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities, including project pipelines and displacement opportunities.
• Collaborating with internal teams such as R&D, Legal, Finance and Production to support commercial activity.
• Leading or supporting contract and supply agreement negotiations with key customers.
• Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies and customer engagement.
