Job description

As a Utility Account Manager, you will lead the launch and growth of some of the largest managed EV charging programs in the country. Reporting to our Head of Client Success, this role owns a portfolio of utility accounts and is accountable for the success of each program. Delivering an excellent client experience means working closely with our product, business development, marketing, OEM operations, and driver support teams. Aligning with key utility stakeholders, you will define program KPIs and then lead the work to exceed them, building the kind of trust and results that turn great programs into long-term, growing partnerships. This is an in-person role based out of our headquarters in Austin, TX. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of your utility accounts from post-sale through ongoing growth, owning expansion and renewal opportunities;
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for your utility clients, building a strong, trust-based relationship with stakeholders across program teams and leadership;
  • Driving alignment across OEM operations, product, engineering, and driver support to deliver on-time program launches and efficient ongoing operations;
  • Defining strategic account plans and getting buy-in on program goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) from utility stakeholders;
  • Managing across internal and external stakeholders to ensure we meet program targets, and escalating as necessary when we are not on track;
  • Presenting program performance to utility clients, responding to their feedback, and recommending program changes/enhancements that meet evolving utility needs; and
  • Supporting marketing and EV driver outreach efforts by drafting high-quality communications and collateral.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has exceptional relationship management skills and understands utility preferences, operations and technology stacks;
  • Has a strong commercial mindset, aligning client needs and business objectives;
  • Demonstrates strong presentation and writing skills, with aptitude for creating data-driven narratives and visually compelling slide decks;
  • Is outcome-focused, ensuring that strategies and initiatives deliver measurable impact;
  • Has strong data analysis and writing capabilities, and is effective in using AI tools; and
  • Is willing to get deep into the weeds on tasks both large and small to support ChargeScape's utility clients and EV drivers.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of SaaS account management experience, with at least 2 years in vehicle-grid integration, demand-side management or energy; and
  • Previous start-up experience is a non-negotiable requirement.
