Job summary

CSD in California seeks a Field Operations Specialist to support deaf and hard-of-hearing customers with in-home assessments, equipment education, and access to California Connect programs. You’ll work with Customer Advisors, recruit and engage communities, and conduct outreach in offices or community spaces as needed.

The role demands strong customer service, training ability for device features, and privacy-compliant reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related human service field or equivalent professional experience.
• Two years of professional experience supporting deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, or disabled customers.
• Ability to communicate in various proficiency levels of ASL.
• Ability to speak in Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish is highly desirable.
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record; will drive throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to clientele with various disabilities.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate message strategies for the program.
• Support the development of online materials (website, video content, blogs).
• Assist recipients with equipment orders and access to options.
• Provide recipient support services (install, train, troubleshoot, follow-up).
• Gather input via focus groups and surveys to identify improvements.
• Respond promptly to customers and build respectful relationships.
• Deliver training on equipment features and provide privacy-compliant reporting.
