Job summary

CSD seeks a Field Operations Specialist to educate and support customers across California’s Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program. You will conduct in-home assessments, install equipment, train users, and help with communications materials.

The role partners with Customer Advisors to deliver accessible solutions and travels regionally, with first 90 days in Santa Rosa before relocating to Berkeley/Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related human service field
• Two years of professional experience working supporting deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, or disabled customers
• Two years of professional experience in advocacy, marketing, and/or communications
• Ability to communicate in ASL at various proficiency levels
• Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin language skills desirable
• Excellent oral, visual, and written communication skills
• Background check required
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record; travel across region

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to clientele with various disabilities.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate message strategies for the program goals.
• Develop online materials such as website content, video content, social media posts, and blogs.
• Assist recipients with accessible telecommunication equipment selection and orders.
• Provide installation, training, troubleshooting, and follow-up services.
• Gather community input via focus groups and surveys to improve resources.
• Respond promptly to customers and build relationships.
• Provide technical assistance, education, and cultural-specific resource training.
• Adhere to privacy and information security protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
