Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide courteous front-desk service, register patients, verify insurance, and help ensure accurate billing. The role supports patient access operations with a focus on service quality and financial outcomes.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:30pm with a rotation between Main Campus, Child Health Pavilion, and the Hope Center. A high school diploma or GED is required; healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or front desk is preferred.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with appointment scheduling and patient registration.
• Verify insurance information and assist with billing-related questions.
• Enter data and manage PHI with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Coordinate patient referrals and assist with payment collection.
• Provide telephone coverage and respond to patient inquiries.
• Maintain excellent patient relations and support hospital financial solvency.

Job Details: Patient Access Representatives provide customer-service coverage and assume the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of all patient services. Under the general supervision of the Patient Access Manager, this position performs imperative duties, which may include, but not limited to appointment scheduling, registration, transcribing orders, insurance verification, telephone coverage, data entry, filing protected health information (PHI), patient referrals, and payment collection, while maintaining patient relations, customer satisfaction, and Dayton Children's Hospital financial solvency.

Department Specific Job Details:

Shift Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm Will rotate between Main Campus, Child Health Pavilion and the Hope Center. Every 10th Saturday Education. High school diploma or GED required. Experience: Customer service (front desk/patient facing). Healthcare (preferred).
