Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the SME on access issues for HCPs and HCOs. The role collaborates with field sales, market access, and patient support to facilitate timely patient access to therapy in a remote/field-based capacity.

The FAM analyzes access trends, coordinates with hub/vendor on patient cases, and educates providers on coverage policies across Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. This position requires 20-25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support or healthcare/pharma roles.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial).
• Experience with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Willingness to travel 20-25% and operate remotely within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Educate HCPs and offices on patient access and benefit verification.
• Analyze access trends and payer coverage.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address access barriers and improve patient access.
• Coordinate with hub/vendor on patient cases and enrollment.
• Provide education on Specialty Pharmacy issues and payer processes.
• Support access education to field teams and internal stakeholders.
