Qualifications

• Experience in patient access, admissions or registration preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead daily functions of the designated work area
• Provide direction and support to staff and escalate concerns to management
• Complete statistical reporting and data analysis per UPMC guidelines
• Serve as primary information source for financial matters on site
• Train new staff and orient to department work area
• Monitor patient flow and adjust staffing as needed
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in the system
• Verify insurance benefits with carriers via electronic systems or phone
• Assist clinical staff with referrals and reimbursement issues
