Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of secretarial/clerical experience, preferably in a medical practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient FPA appointments and updates the practice management system.
• Collects patient demographics and insurance information and enters into the system.
• Verifies patient insurance coverage prior to appointments and advises on referrals or authorizations needed.
• May schedule patients for tests or consults.
• May initiate reminder calls for upcoming appointments.
• Mentors Scheduling Coordinator and administrative staff; assists Supervisor.
• Acts as liaison between Scheduling staff and Administrative Assistants to address patient concerns.
• Participates in patient satisfaction surveys and reporting.
