Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle, and high school to help them achieve academic success, better attendance, and positive behaviors. You’ll plan and monitor progress with teachers, supporting in-class instruction and school-wide initiatives.

The program offers 2–4 weeks of initial training, ongoing collaboration with partner teachers, and a pathway to personal growth, community impact, and future opportunities. A bi-weekly living stipend is provided.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided
• Work with partner teachers and school staff throughout the program

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and math activities by student level
• Create and implement a behavior management system
• Monitor and analyze individual student progress in City Year data system
• Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction
• Help with extended day and after-school programs
