Job summary

Albany Medical Center's Division of Plastic Surgery is recruiting a Plastic Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to grow clinical, educational, and research programs. The role emphasizes reconstructive surgery, including microvascular breast reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, and general reconstruction.

The successful candidate will participate in tumor call coverage of hand and face trauma, help expand breast reconstruction at affiliate hospitals, and

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Plastic Surgery residency.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, or foreign equivalent recognized by ABPS.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Fellowship training in microvascular surgery is desirable, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide reconstructive and microsurgical care as part of an academic division.
• Take independent hand and face trauma call.
• Collaborate on breast reconstruction, transgender care, and VA-based clinical care.
• Contribute to resident education and research in a collegial environment.

Education

MD or DO degree (or equivalent)

ACGME plastic surgery residency

Board-eligible or board-certified by ABPS or foreign equivalent

New York State medical licensure

Fellowship in microvascular surgery desirable
