Job summary

The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking a Paraeducator - Academic to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics for students on-track to graduate, including those with emotional disturbances or learning needs.

There are permanent and substitute assignments across Los Angeles County. This is open until filled; applications are reviewed biweekly. Salary ranges from $22.91 to $28.44 hourly, with insurance options, a PERS retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with children and youth with behavioral, emotional, and learning needs is highly desirable.
• Must pass the LACOE written test to assist in instruction in reading, writing and mathematics.
• Some positions may require travel and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of reading, writing and mathematics.
• Support students on track to graduate with diverse needs.
• Participate in LACOE Paraeducator Workshop after passing the written test.
