Job summary

The Accelerated Schools in Los Angeles, CA, is hiring an Instructional Aide to support a standards-aligned physical education program and assist with instruction, safety, and inclusive learning. The role reports to the Principal or designee and involves collaboration with teachers, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include supporting English language development, small-group instruction, progress monitoring, and ensuring a positive learning environment. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or AA degree or completion of at least two years of college coursework.
• Demonstrated knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics instruction support.
• Experience with special needs students is preferred.
• Enjoys working with children and pursuing a career in education.
• Self-starter with computer literacy and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work tactfully with diverse personalities and situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional English Language Development support and assist with instruction.
• Support reading, writing and math in small groups or one-on-one sessions.
• Follow teacher-provided core materials and lesson plans.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Support positive behavior and a motivating educational environment.
• Provide interpretation services for parent meetings as needed.
• Organize instructional materials and perform clerical tasks.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
